Biafra Is Dead, Kanu Is Selfish & Shouldn't Be Taken Seriously - Prominent Igbo Chief

A prominent Igbo Chief and former member, Hospital Management Board in Nasarawa State, Chief Davidson Okechekwu Amadi, has said that the actualisation of the Republic of Biafra was no longer feasible.

Amadi added that the leader of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, who is leading the Biafra agitation is doing it for his selfish interest and should not be taken seriously.

Amadi, a native of Imo State but was born and brought up in the North told Daily Sun in an exclusive chat that when the chips were down, Kanu would run out of the country and leave the poor and innocent people that he is leading to suffer and die.

He, therefore, requested Igbo leaders to call the agitators to order in order to ensure peace across the country.

Amadi, a retired chief education officer with the then old Plateau State Government said the reason behind agitation was poverty and desire to et cheap popularity.

He urged the people of the south east to remember what Ojukwu did when he flew out of the country and allowed the helpless people to their faith, adding that Biafra died since 1970 when Col. Effiong handed over the region to then Gen. Gowon.

Amadi called on Nigerian leaders, at all levels, to entrench good governance which would serve the interest of the common man rather than embarking on a selfless mission capable of dividing the country.

According to him, “Nwazurike who started this struggle has amassed wealth for himself and has property scattered all over the world. Kanu is also looking for money and popularity. He lives in London while his brother lives in Germany but the innocent people they are leading are the poor ones in Nigeria”

A,adi also called on the acting EFCC chairman, Ibrahim Magu to resign his position immediately since he is not the only person that can do the job, saying that the DSS report indicting him was enough for him to resign his appointment.
