Mugabe’s Body Arrives Zimbabwe, Set For Burial (Photos)

The remains of Zimbabwe’s former president, Robert Mugabe, on Wednesday, arrived the city of Harare, Zimbabwe’s capital, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV reports that the former dictator and first post-independent president, was flown in a presidential jet from Singapore, where he died last week. 

Photos obtained by Igbere TV, on Wednesday, showed Mugabe’s coffin draped in a Zimbabwean flag.

The casket was carried by military officers from the plane, passing through a red carpet flanked by soldiers.

Meanwhile, Igbere TV had reported that the Zimbabwean government said the late Mugabe will be buried on Sunday at the National Heroes Acre. 

The Heroes Acre is an hilltop shrine (cemetery), specially reserved for the country’s ruling elites.
