Ihedioha Sues Okorocha Over ‘Inciting Statements

Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, has filed a legal suit against his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha, over statements which he described as ‘inciting’.

The suit filed at the Owerri district of the Magistrate Court by the state’s attorney general alleged that Okorocha is in the habit of “making seditious and inciting statements against the government even on air using your radio station (Reach FM), which is widely listened to in Owerri and beyond.”

The attorney general accused Okorocha of putting together a group of armed thugs known as ‘Ohaji boys’.

He also accused Okorocha of using the boys to attack the Special Adviser to Ihedioha on Security, who is also Chairman of the Task Force on Recovery of Government Property, Jasper Ndubuaku, on August 28, Igbere TV reports.

The court asked Okorocha to appear on October 8 to answer to the charges.

In reaction to the summons, Okorocha said it was embarrassing and among the many actions taken by his successor to step on his toes.

The summons come about 48 hours after Ihedioha denied ordering Okorocha’s arrest.
