JUST IN!!! Aspirant Kicks As Yahaya Bello Wins Kogi APC Governorship Ticket

One of the sons of former Kogi State Governor, Abubakar Audu, has filed a legal suit against the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi.

Mustapha Audu filed the suit before a Lokoja High Court after he was disqualified from participating in the governorship primary which was concluded on Thursday.

Governor Yahaya Bello won the primary and would be seeking re-election in November barring any changes.

Audu was disqualified for allegedly not being a member of the party and not including his birth certificate/declaration of age in his nomination form.

He alleged in the suit which has not been fixed for mention that he was unjustly excluded from the primary by the National Working Committee (NWC).

The late governor’s son said he met all the requirements expected of a governorship aspirant of the party.

“The Defendant National Working Committee unjustly excluded the Claimant name in the list of cleared aspirants being a power unknown to the history and tradition of ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS and which sought to usurp the Claimants’ rights known as Governorship Aspirant,” he said.

Audu is praying the court to declare that his exclusion from the list of governorship aspirants was a breach of his right to fair hearing, and declare the primary null and void.

He also wants the court to order the APC to include his name on the list of candidates.
