The Federal Government has alleged that the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, has Iran’s backing to establish an Islamic State in Nigeria.
In a counter-affidavit filed against IMN’s motion challenging a court order which proscribed its activities, the government said El-Zakzaky had the support of the Iranian government to achieve the aim.
The Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday fixed September 11 to hear the group’s motion against the order proscribing its activities.
Counsel for IMN, Femi Falana, filed the motion on behalf of the group.
