Minister Of Budget Resumes Duty, Vows To Present 2020 Budget By Sept

The Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba, has officially resumed duty, assuring to deliver on presenting next years budget by September this year, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV reports that Agba, upon resumption on Friday, charged staff at his ministry on the need to work smart in the delivery of the next level agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari and budget preparation.

Speaking after he was introduction to members of staff and directors of agencies by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja, the Minister said;

“For this ministry in particular, we do have a lot of work to do and I can see that we have very capable hands to do the work.

“The Permanent Secretary has said that you are all very hard-working people; I like hardworking people but I prefer smart-working people. We need to work very smart”.

Before now, Nigeria’s budget cycle has always failed to meet the recommended start of every calendar year due to several reasons, sometimes political.
