Authorities of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have beefed up security over fears that protesters may invade the school on Monday.
Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, had called on Nigerians to come out for what he tagged #RevolutionNow protest against the government.
Mr Sowore was, however, arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) on Saturday.
A Igbere TV correspondent who was at UNILAG on Monday morning reports that security personnel have been positioned outside the school gates.
A source volunteered, “There are fears that troublemakers especially rusticated students may invade UNILAG and take advantage of the protest to foment trouble.”
Justifying Sowore’s arrest, the DSS said his action is a threat to public safety, peaceful co-existence and social harmony in the country.
