Nigerian Children Not For Sale – Dolapo Osinbajo Says

Wife of the Vice President, Dolapo Osinbajo, has said that Nigerian children are not for sale, in an apparent message to human traffickers.

Mrs Osinbajo said this on Thursday while commissioning the re-modelled shelter of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) as part of activities lined up in commemoration of the 2019 World Day Against Human Trafficking.

She said: “The children are not for sale, they are precious and special to us.”

Osinbajo added that “the sensitisation must go down to the grassroots in all our local languages so that people can easily understand the message and become less vulnerable.”

She praised NAPTIP for its modest achievements in the areas of enlightenment, arrest, investigation, prosecution, and rehabilitation of victims of human trafficking in the country.

She also called on the organised private sector to join hands with the agency in curbing the menace.
