BREAKING: President Buhari Swears in Tanko Muhammad As CJN

President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn in Tanko Muhammad as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Igbere TV reports.

Muhammad was cleared last week by the Senate.

gbere TV reports that was sworn-in in a ceremony on Wednesday attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; and Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege.

Muhammad had been on acting capacity since January 2019. He becomes the 18th CJN.Also at the ceremony that started around 10:30 am included Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu; Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum; and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed.

Others included the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari; and Head of Service, Winifred Oyo-Ita.
