A Deputy Commissioner of Police has been killed in the latest Shiites attack, Igbere TV has learnt.
Igbere TV reports that members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), better known as Shiites, on Monday, stormed the streets of Abuja in a violent protest.
The group is protesting the continued detention of their leader, El-Zazaky, by the federal government.
The latest victim identified simply as Umar, is said to be in charge of Operations at the FCT Police Command.
Igbere TV gathered that DCP Umar was killed by the protesters while trying to prevent the hostile action of destruction of property at the axis of the federal secretariat and three arms zone.
Three other officers are reportedly in critical condition, as at pres time.
