BREAKING: ICPC Raids Akpabio’s Business Premises Over Diversion of Generators, Hospital Equipments (Photos)

Today, Wednesday, July 10, a company belonging to Godswill Akpabio, a former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, was raided by operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), in search of some properties diverted to his personal use, Igbere TV reports.

According to reports gathered by Igbere TV, the Senator who represented Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly but lost his reelection bid to return to the Senate own a private company located in his hometown, Ukana in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nsemek Industries Limited.

Igbere TV reports that part of the properties which were discovered to have been diverted to Nsemek Industries, which is being managed by Nsentip Akpabio, Senator Akpabio’s younger brother, includes some hospital equipments meant for Ukana Cottage Hospital.

The equipment include Dialysis machine, Computers, Anaesthetic machine, ECG Monitor, Oxygen regulator, among others, as well as two 15 KVA generators, Igbere TV can report.

The equipment were part of items purchased through Constituency Project of Senator Akpabio.

The ICPC officials were said to have acted on a tip-off, swooping on the premises of Nsemek Industries today.

The recovered equipment are said to have been handed over to the management of the Ukana Cottage Hospital, the original beneficiary of the Constituency Project.
