A consultant paediatrician with the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano State, Dr. Bashir Zubayr, who was kidnapped on July 3 has been freed.
Zubayr reunited with his family on Monday, 48 hours after his abductors set him free.
It was gathered that a ransom of N10 million was paid for his freedom after his abductors had initially demanded N200 million.
Zubayr was abducted alongside two of his younger brothers, and a younger sister at along Lokoja-Okene federal highway.
They were on their way to Okene for the 40th day Fidau of their late mother.
The doctor, speaking with journalists at his Naibawa resident, thanked friends, well-wishers, and Kano residents for standing by him in times of need.
