Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West at the National Assembly, has identified a fake Facebook account, Igbere TV reports.
The lawmaker raised alarm on the fake account which bears the name ‘Hon Dino Melaye’ on Sunday.
Operators of the account sent messages through Facebook Messenger to several persons, promising to help them raise capital of N100, 000 to start any business of their choice.
The operators advised that interested persons should go for low risk businesses, directing them to contact a man, Usman Abudulahi, identified as Melaye’s financial manager.
“419. This is fake,” Melaye said about the account.

Meanwhile, the controversial senator had on July 4 picked his nomination and expression of interest form on to contest the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of Kogi elections in November.
Melaye had on June 1 declared his interest to contest the Kogi governorship election scheduled for November 16.
