Immediate past governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, has described the Supreme Court’s ruling on Osun as the promise of God fulfilled, Igbere TV reports.
The apex court had on Friday dismissed Senator Ademola Adeleke’s appeal on the September 2018 governorship election in the state.
The court also upheld Gboyega Oyetola as the rightfully elected governor of the state.
Justice Olabode Rodes-Vivour, on behalf of five judges, ruled that failure of a member of the election tribunal, Justice Peter Obiora, to sit on February 6, 2019 rendered the entire proceedings and the judgment given on March 22 by the tribunal a nullity.
Mr Aregbesola reacted to the news in a tweet written in Yoruba language.
“Ilerioluwa ti se l’Osun,” he said, which literally means “The Promise of God has manifested in Osun.”
