Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has announced Alhassan Doguwa as the leader of the house, Igbere TV reports.
Mr Gbajabiamila made the announcement during plenary on Thursday.
The speaker also announced Peter Akpatason as deputy leader, Tahir Monguno as chief whip and Nkeiruka Onyejeocha as deputy chief whip.
The new house leader, Doguwa, is the immediate past chief whip.
Gbajabiamila had on Wednesday defied the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by naming Ndudi Elumelu as the House Minority Leader despite PDP choosing Kingsley Chinda for the position.
The speaker said the decision to announce Mr Elumelu as minority leader was based on an agreement by several minority parties which PDP is only a part of.
