Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has announced that the House would commence electronic voting as from July 3, Igbere TV reports.
Igbere TV reports that Mr Gbajabiamila made the announcement on Tuesday at the commencement of plenary after two weeks of recess.
The e-voting system, he said, would only be applied on some selected national issues to determine accuracy.
The speaker said the system would ensure transparency and accountability as it would determine who voted for or against any national issue.
“Progress has been made and by tomorrow it will be fully operational,” Gbajabiamila said.
He also announced that the surroundings of the National Assembly Complex have been enabled with Wi-Fi connection to allow legislators carry out research from all locations.
