Over a hundred thousand supporters of Senator Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, on Saturday stormed his country home in Igbere, Bende Local Government Area of Abia to celebrate his victory at the February 23 Senatorial election.
Igbere TV reports that Kalu, who was among the 106 other Senators-elect inaugurated on June 11, hinted that he was going to host his Abia North Constituents to a grand reception, today, June 22.
“I’m going to be celebrating with the people of Abia North who voted for me as their Senator,” the two-time governor of Abia, had said.
Today’s event has several dignitaries and personalities in attendance, including former and current Senators, former and current lawmakers, ex-governors, clergymen and captain of industries.
Our correspondent reports that the event is hosted on over 200 400-sitting capacity canopies.
The event is expected to be rounded-off with a Thanksgiving Service tomorrow.
