Popular online news platform, Igbere TV, on Friday, congratulated Mr. John Okiyi-Kalu on his reappointment as the Commissioner for Information, Abia State Government.
Igbere TV’s congratulatory message was conveyed in a statement issued by the Director, Emeh James Anyalekwa in Uyo.
Anyalekwa, who doubles as President of the Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN), extolled the leadership qualities and astute contributions of Okiyi-Kalu to the successes of the present government since inception in 2015.
He described the Information Commissioner as an illustrious son of Abia, whose remarkable contributions to the media industry in Nigeria remained legendary and worthy of emulation.
“Mr. Okiyi-Kalu is an illustrious son of Abia in whom we are well pleased.
“His astute contributions to the development of the media industry is legendary and worthy of emulation”, Anyalekwa said.
Anyalekwa said that as a distinguished son, Okiyi-Kalu has had a remarkable first term as Information Commissioner, where he successfully played a critical role to steer the affairs of Abia State Ministry of Information.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors and entire staff of Igbere TV, I congratulate Mr John Okiyi-Kalu on his reappointment for a second term as Information Commissioner, Abia State Government,” he said.
The Igbere TV boss commended Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu for finding Okiyi-Kalu worthy to be reappointed.
He also felicitated with other appointees who were sworn-in by the governor on Wednesday.
He said that Okiyi-Kalu had not only exceeded expectations since he took over the helm of the Information Commission, but had also taken the ministry to greater heights.
“I have never doubted your ability to effectively lead the ministry to the enviable heights you have taken it to.
“And I must thank the governor for rewarding your excellent performance in the last four years by returning you and some of your colleagues,” he said.
Anyalekwa also called on other political appointees in Abia to join hands with the governor and other relevant stakeholders to take Abia State to greater heights.
The Media guru said that he had no doubt that with the astute support of his colleagues, Okiyi-Kalu would bring his wealth of experience to bear, not only in advancing the course of the ministry, but Abia State in general.
