The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has emerged the new Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Igbere TV can report.
He succeeds Abdulaziz Yari, Zamfara state governor, whose tenure had lapsed.
His emergence, Igbere TV reports, was announced on Twitter handle of the South-West APC, Wednesday night.
Igbere TV gathered that the election held in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
It was not immediately clear whether Governor Nasir el-Rufai, who was earlier rumoured to be in the race, stepped down for Fayemi or lost out.
