A new governing council has been constituted for the Akwa Ibom State University, with Engr. Samuel Edward Inyang as Chairman and Pro Chancellor, Igbere TV reports.
A release by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, announces other members of the board to include Elder Clinton Akpan, Sir Michael Essang, Dr Gloria Ukpong and Obong Aniedi Ndem.
An indigene of Ikot Ekpene local government area, Engr. Samuel Inyang is the chief executive officer of an Engineering firm, Seyang Limited, and has over three decades Oil and gas industry experience.
A former MD Shell Nigeria Gas Limited and GM production East (Superintending a quarter of Nigeria’s production).
He was a Member, NDDC Board between 2000 and 2006.
A Founding member of the Nigerian Gas Association (1979-97) and Director of SPE Lagos section (1997-99).
An integral part of the Executive Development Programme, Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA. Shell EP Leadership Programme, Holland.
He is also a member of the executive programme for Growing Companies, Stanford Graduate School of Business, Stanford.
Engr. Inyang is a farmer, and Chief Executice Officer of Aqwacoco Enterprises, a major cocoa farm and processing company on the brink of production in Akwa Ibom state.
For his long and productive service years to the nation of Nigeria in the oil & gas sector, he was awarded a national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger, OON.
