Almost immediately after Chelsea legend Petr Cech announced that he’d hang up his boots (gloves?) at the end of the season, there were rumors that he’d do what just about everyone would expect him to do: return to Chelsea in a non-playing capacity. Recently, strong rumours suggested that he would join up in some sort of technical role, perhaps as a long-overdue partial replacement for former director of football Michael Emenalo.
But before any of that can happen, he will have one more game to play for Arsenal. As fate would have it, it will be against Chelsea, on May 29, in Baku, Azerbaijan. If this were a movie, we would consider this lazy screenwriting.
