Group Condemns Tribalistic Agenda Of FIRS Chairman, Set For Nationwide Protest In FCT (Photos)

The National Coalition of Nigeria Entertainers Southsouth and Southeast zone has condemned the ongoing segregation and tribalistic agenda by Babatunde Fowler, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service-FIRS, for his bias support for resident Entertainers in the Southsouth and Southeast region.

The national president of the Entertainment body, Amb. Kenule made this call during a press briefing in Abuja few hours ago. He called on relevant stakeholders in the Southsouth and Southeast zones, who have already commenced preparations for their zonal protests to Join Coalition of Nigeria Entertainers for the peaceful protest which will be staged on the 15th of May, 2019 in the Federal Capital Territory.

During the briefing with newsmen today, Amb. Kenule confirmed that the FIRS under Babatunde Fowler has only supported entertainers who are from the Southwest and some few Entertainers who are based in Abuja, without any supportive consideration for entertainers in the Southsouth and Southeast zone.

He strongly stated that the marginalization by the FIRS Chairman was amongst some of the reasons why president Buhari recorded low vote support in the Southsouth and Southeast region in the just concluded general election in Nigeria.

While narrating the aggrieved position of the Coalition of Nigeria Entertainers Southsouth and Southeast Zone, the national president stressed that Entertainers from this region have continued to do the needful in tax payment and other relevant requirements, however, they must be considered as beneficiaries of the social responsibility by every national agency in Nigeria.

He concluded by stating that the protest will hold as scheduled, and any person or Institution who decides to sabotage the already planned procession, would have failed even in their intents.
