There is currently heavy tension in Ebonyi State University, EBSU, as cult clash between two rival groups has claimed more than four lives.
Igbere TV gathered that students now live in fear as there have been a sporadic gun shots since this week’s Monday.
According to an eyewitness who spoke with Igbere TV under the condition of anonymity said : “our lives are now in danger, we can’t sleep very well at night.”
“At least four persons have been feared killed since this cult war started. On Tuesday, stray bullet killed a man who was selling drinks in his shop.”
“So, the cult clash is no longer a fight between two groups because a bullet can hit an innocent person.”
“We plead with the state governor, Engr. David Umahi to help curtail the culture activities in ishieke campus”, he said.
When Igbere TV visited shops at night, our correspondent discovered that most shops closed at 7:30pm.
