BREAKING!!! Lalong Wins Plateau State Governorship Re-run Poll

Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State has just been re-elected as governor for another four years, Igbere TV can report.

Igbere TV reports that Lalong, who is currently serving his first tenure as governor under the All Progressives Congress (APC), polled a total vote of 595,582 votes to beat his closest rivalry, Senator Jeremiah Usani of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 546, 813 votes to come second.

Earlier in his welcome address, the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Plateau, Alh. Halilu Pai said; “you will recall that the governorship election in the state was conducted on 9th Feb, 2019, which end inconclusive which inform the commission to conduct re-run election in those affected local government and polling units cut across nine affected LGAs and fourty polling units in the state.”

Pai thanked the electorates for their peaceful conduct and for making the election possible right from the beginning and the re-runs.

He, however, appealed to the stakeholders in the electoral processes to play the game according to the rules, saying, “politics is not a do or die affair.”

In her remark, the Supervisory National Electoral Commissioner, Prof Antonia Simbine thanked the people of Plateau state for their peaceful conduct throughout the exercise.

She equally thanked the electorates for coming out en masse to vote during the election and appreciated the journalists for being part of the whole process from the beginning to the end.
