Ohuabunwa Under Investigation as Police Makes More Discovery, May be Arrested Again

Following the arrest and interrogation of Senator Mao Ohuabunwa (representing Abia North Senatorial District) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for electoral fraud by the police, reliable sources have confirmed that the embattled senator and his co-horts are planning to frustrate police investigation.
The PDP candidate for Abia North Senatorial district in the presidential and national assembly elections of February 23, was arrested by the police for illegal thump-printing of ballot papers, filling of result sheets and violence during the poll.

Ohuabunwa

The electoral fraud, which was perpetrated by Ohuabunwa and his paid agents was detected by a police Inspector attached to one of the polling units in Arochukwu LGA.
The gallant police officer despite being molested by thugs and miscreants sponsored by the PDP candidate, notified the army personnel on duty, who later apprehended the riggers and handed them over the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Arochukwu.
The falsification of election results by Ohuabunwa was made possible by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation officer for Aochukwu LGA, Mr. V Ibe, who was paid by the embattled senator to circumvent the electoral process.
Ohuabunwa, who was a few days ago, released by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Umuahia on administrative bail, may have to report to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Abuja alongside his security details and the INEC collation officer, who were earlier arrested, handcuffed and detained, for further interrogation.
Our sources also confirmed that the police has strong evidences of electoral manipulation and violence against the embattled senator, who used his security details and thugs to perpetrate the unlawful act.
We also gathered that the police authority has written formally to the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Abia state, Mr. Joseph Ilo, to release the youth corps members and other INEC ad-hoc staff, who served in the said polling unit for interrogation.
The reliable sources equally confirmed that the police authority is currently investigating reported cases of electoral fraud committed by the PDP Senator in other parts of Abia North Senatorial district including Nkporo and Abam.
