Abia 2019: SDP Campaign Train Hits Aba (Photos)

Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Hon Dame Blessing Nwagba campaign train was at the city of Aba for campaign rally iniAba North LGA midnight.

The rally which took place at No 14 Brass Street just before the junction, had the atmosphere charged and the people were excited from the beginning of the event till when it ended at about few minutes before 9pm. There were lots of social activities to mark the event.

Speaking, the SDP party’s chairman for Aba North LGA, Okwueze Joachin thanked the people for their patience and steadfastness.

He described the rally as a home match and urged the people to feel at home.

He encouraged them to vote massively for Hon Nwagba and other candidates of the party in the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections.

The Director General of the State Campaign council, Hon Ikechi Osondu apologized to the people for keeping them waiting.

He explained it was never intentional and encouraged them not to despair.

Speaking further, Osondu said that the Social Democratic Party is the party that will produce the new leadership in the state both at the State Assembly and as Governor.

He presented the candidates for the House of Assembly for Aba North State Constituency, Hon Dickson D. I. Asionye and Aba Central state constituency, Hon Michael Ogbonnaya Kalu to the people and urged for their votes.

The candidate for Aba South state constituency, Hon Elder Nnabugwu Ujoumunna (Nwa-South) was also in attendance.

The DG urged the people of Aba North to vote for SDP on the 9th of March.

The candidate for Aba North State Constituency, Hon Dickson D. I Asionye (Apiti) said that his mandate is for the teaming youths of Aba North whom he described as people who have been deceived with the axiom “Leaders of Tomorrow”.

He said that the tomorrow is now and urged the people of Aba North to vote for him and his party on the 9th of March 2019 Governorship and State Assembly elections.

The candidate for Aba Central state constituency, Hon Michael Ogbonnaya Kalu in his own speech urged the youths, the women and men to vote for SDP and defend their votes by ensuring that they stay at their respective polling units until the votes are counted.

He promised that he will not disappoint the people of Aba if elected into the state assembly.

The Director General introduced the Deputy Governorship candidate, Comr Augustine Uchenna Ogu to greet the people of Aba North.

He spoke with a song which says “nanu otu vote bu ihe nwere oo nanu otu vote bu ihe nwere, eeh agam enye ya SDP eeh eeh agam enye ya SDP nanu otu vote bu ihe anyi nwere”.

He urged the people of Aba North to vote massively for Social Democratic Party in the forthcoming Governorship and State Assembly elections.

The Director General introduced the Governorship candidate of the party, Hon Dame Blessing Nwagba to address the people of Aba North.

lessing told the people that she knows that the rally for Aba North will be different from other LGAs.

She described Aba North as the treasure base of Abia State and urged them to see her candidacy as their own and encouraged them to support and vote for SDP.

Hon Dame Blessing Nwagba described herself as the most qualified candidate for the Governorship position of the State.

She said that she has both legislative, administrative and executive experience.

She went further to tell the people of Aba North the reasons she wants to Govern the state. Amongst many other things she losted, is that she will revitalize the economy of the state, resuscitate the moribund industries, transform the state’s infrastructure and put the hospitals and schools in proper shape.

She reiterated that her administration will pay a minimum wage of N50,000 on the 26th of every month.

She said that the funds that will enable her carry out these things will be generated through Federal Allocation, IGR, and grants from International donor agencies.

She said that her administration will end revenue collection through touts but will use experts in revenue collection and that will increase the state’s internally generated revenue.

She said that her administration will support the SMEs and ensure that they are not levied indiscriminately.

She said that her administration will provide basic infrastructure that will enable their businesses to thrive.

She further urged them to vote out the underperforming present administration and vote for the SDP (WHITE HORSE) on the 9th of March.

In his vote of thanks, the SDP chairman for Aba North LGA thanked the people for their patience and solidarity.

He urged them to express the excitement they showed them on the campaign rally by voting massively for SDP on the 9th of March.
