Zone Senate Presidency to S'East, Ndigbo tell Buhari, APC

Igbo Patriotic Forum (IPF) has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his victory in the last Saturday presidential and national assembly poll.
Describing the President’s re-election as an opportunity for Nigerians to witness more infrastructural development across the country.
While acknowledging the achievements of the federal government thus far, spokesman of IPF, Mazi Anthony Anyim, called on other Nigeria leaders to join hands with President Buhari in advancing the cause of Nigeria.

He urged the leadership of the APC to zone the position of Senate Presidency to the South East, adding that Ndigbo had been marginalized by previous administrations.

In a statement issued on Friday, the IPF called on Igbo sons and daughters to support the President Buhari-led government, stressing that the future of Nigeria is bright under the current administration.
He said, “with the results of the February 23, 2019 presidential and national assembly elections, it is glaring that President Buhari is popular and well accepted by the people regardless of party affiliation.
” The votes polled by the President in the 2019 election in the South East is more than what he scored in 2015.
” The President has executed numerous projects in the South East than previous administrations.
” We appeal to the top echelon of the APC to consider the South East for the position of senate President.
“The President is from the North and the Vice President is from the West.
” In the spirit of patriotism, Ndigbo should be considered for Senate President.
“Collectively, all ethnic groups must work together for the sake of national development”
The forum while admonishing former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to accept defeat in good faith, stressed that politics is not a do-or-die affair, adding that the collective interest of Nigerians should be paramount.
Anyim equally urged Ndigbo to take active part in national politics, noting that the people of the South East have contributed immensely to the economic development of Nigeria.
