Mr. Adamu Adamu, the minister of Education on Saturday, February 2, suggested a breakthrough in negotiations with the striking university lecturers, Igbere Tv reports.
The minister of education, Adamu Adamu at a media conference in Abuja said an agreement was reached with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) union which was expected to cancel the strike.
He disclosed on Saturday, February 2, saying that the strike will be called off from today or tomorrow and certainly, there won’t be strike next week.
The lecturers under ASUU kick start an indefinite strike on November 4, 2018, after the failure to reach agreement with the federal government over their demands.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike was said to have interrupt activities at the universities as well as the achievements of the students, Igbere Tv reports.
