Former Chairman of Arochukwu local government area of Abia state, Hon. Chibuike Jonas has warned the Senator representing Abia North district, Mao Ohuabunwa against spreading rumours of his purported endorsement by traditional rulers from Arochukwu LGA.
Describing the falsehood as a desperate way of dragging respected royal fathers into the murky waters of politics, Jonas berated Ohuabunwa for failing to live up to expectations.
According to the former Chairman, the people of Abia North are not only tired but highly disappointed with the performance of Ohuabunwa in the Senate.
Speaking with various youth groups in Arochukwu on Friday, the grassroots politician urged the people of Arochukwu to vote the former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu for Senate (Abia North) based on his antecedents in the state.
Stressing that the Bende-Ohafia-Arochukwu road, which was executed by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) was facilitated by the former governor, who is also the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Abia North.
He said, ” the people of Abia North cannot wait to send Ohuabunwa packing.
“He has failed his kinsmen, he has failed the people of Abia North and he has failed Abians in general.
” We need someone with the right pedigree to represent us in the Senate.
“Kalu is an astute businessman, a compassionate politician and a philanthropist of note and as such, these qualities will earn him victory in the poll.
” Although Ohuabunwa is claiming to be a native of Arochukwu, he has no done any remarkable project in our zone.
“Kalu has attracted roads through NDDC to our communities across Abia state.
” We will only vote based on performance and pedigree”.
The former Chairman admonished Ohuabunwa to face reality by withdrawing from the race in order to avoid a major loss in the poll, adding Kalu remains the best candidate for represent the people of Abia North in the Senate.
Jonas also urged Abians to vote en-masse for Chief Uche Ogah of the APC in the governorship election.Ogah,who is well known for his integrity & focusness, stressing that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) led government in the state has made life miserable for the masses by not paying salaries for over 10 months and not paying the Pensions not to talk of the state’s run down infrastructure.
