An unexpected discovery was recently made by some construction workers in the South eastern part of Nigeria. The construction workers were reportedly digging round an old house before they come across stash of Biafran pounds hidden inside a bottle buried in the ground, Igbere Tv reports.
The Biafran pound was the currency of the breakaway Republic of Biafra between 1968 and 1970 during the civil war. The labourers and other villagers were shocked at the sight of the money as they wondered what might have made the “wealthy” owner bury the cash.
It could be recalled that a similar report like has been some weeks ago, a US based Nigerian entertainer identified as Chinomso Prince Egbuchere and his family discovered a huge sum of Biafran pounds their grandfather hid in the ceiling during the Biafran war.
It was reported that the grandfather died over 3 decades ago but he has hid the money along with other items in the ceiling during the Biafran war.
