BREAKING! AbiaMedia RoundTable Fixes February for 2019 Election Debates (Photos)

The Abia Media RoundTable (AMRT) has announced that the 2019 election debates for Abia state will be held in February.

This was made known by the chairman, Chief Ogwo Agu (General Manager MCL) after a meeting of the body held at Magic FM conference room, Opopo road Aba, on Friday, 4th January 2019.

The meeting of Heads of broadcast stations in Abia State discussed the hosting of Political Debates by the broadcast stations ahead of 2019 elections and resolved as follows:

1. The group comprising participating media organizations shall be known and referred to as Abia Media Roundtable.
2. The immediate mandate/objective of the Abia Media roundtable shall be to organize a debate for contestants/candidates of various political parties seeking to be elected into the office of the Governor of Abia State. Also the group shall organize debates between candidates seeking to be elected into Federal Legislative positions in the state.
3. Abia Media Roundtable agreed that ground rules/rules of engagement shall be established for the debates. Efforts shall be focused on the strict adherence to the ground rules and rules of engagement by the participants.
4. The debates shall be broadcast live by participating stations and through other available ICT/social media platforms.
