Gov Ikpeazu Lampooned: "Don’t Drag Monarchs into Politics"

Following a purported endorsement of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for second term in office by traditional rulers from Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State, Vice-Chairman (Abia North) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Hon. Chris Aja has lampooned the Governor and condemned what he called a “desperate move” by Governor Ikpeazu to drag the monarchs into the murky waters of politics, Igbere TV reports.

According to the APC chieftain, the traditional rulers, who paid a visit to the state helmsman were cajoled by the Chairman of Isuikwuato LGA, Chief Nnamani Udueze on the premise that the visit will not be associated with politics, stressing that the visit was not an endorsement as the traditional rulers have on several occasions stated it’s political neutrality.

The APC stalwart while emphasising that the APC will not leave any stone unturned in the forthcoming general elections, called on the electorate to vote en-masse for President Muhammadu Buhari, Dr. Uche Ogah (Governor) , Dr. Orji Kalu (Senate, Abia North) and other APC candidates in the state.

Aja commended the federal government for its giant developmental strides in the South East, adding that previous governments had marginalized the region in terms of projects and political appointments.
