A Federal High Court Sitting in Abuja on Thursday restrained Chief Ikechi Emenike from parading himself as the official candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Abia State.
The presiding judge, Hon. Justice A. I Chikere also ordered the All Progressive Congress, APC, not to recognize anyone again as the Governorship Candidate of its party except Dr. Uche Ogah.
In a suit No FHC/ABJ/C5/1478/2018, the court restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission from further substituting or withdrawing Ogah’s name as the APC Candidate come 2019 general election.
“That an order of interim injunction is hereby made restraining Ikechi Emenike from parading himself as the Abia Gubernatorial of the All Progressive Congress for 2019 general election.”
The news sparked jubilations in Aba and other major cities in the state.
