Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the major contenders for the number one position are continuing to strategize and re-strategize to brighten their chances at the polls.
Igbere TV has obtained details of the meeting between Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo and PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, PDP chairman, Uche Secondus, Ex-jigawa governor, Sule Lamido and other ranking PDP chieftains.
We reported earlier that the politicians met at Nicon Luxury Hotel on Tuesday to discuss fresh plans towards the 2019 Elections.
Sources privy to details of the meeting disclosed that the meeting was deeply based on strategies that would enable Atiku emerge victorious in next year’s general elections.
The meeting reviewed the ongoing zonal campaigns of the party, which was said to come before for the state-by-state campaign that would follow.
Igbere Tv learnt that Obasanjo used the meeting to reconcile Atiku and ex-governor of Adamawa state, Murtala Nyako. Nyako was a member of the party before joining the APC. He also settled Atiku’s rift with his former aide, Dr. Umar Ardo.
This development, sources say, has solidified Atiku’s powerbase in Adamawa state. It is believed that with these rifts settled, Atiku might clinch the state in next year’s election.
However, PDP chairman, Uche Secondus declined to comment or take questions from newsmen after the meeting
