BREAKING!!! Tension Over Plot to Barricade Airport as Kalu Returns from Germany

 

Igbere TV has learned of plan by some youths to barricade the Airport on Friday to receive the former Governor of Abia State and the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu who is billed to return to the country from Germany where he recently underwent a major surgery.

Kalu in a letter released today, personally signed by him reaffirmed his respect for the judicial system, and revealed that he will return to the country on 30th November 2018 in respect to the demands of the court.

Since the information filtered in, Igbere Tv gathered that supporters of Kalu have began massive mobilisation to storm the Airport to receive him on arrival and prevent any attempt by security operatives to harass or arrest him.

One of the leaders of the youth group who spoke with IGBERE TV on condition of anonymity said that youths numbering over 2000 are set to storm the airport but the only challenge they have at the moment is a confirmation of the arrival airport.

“As I speak with you the mobilisation is almost concluded, the youths are coming from several states cutting across the northern and southern parts of the country. The only challenge they have now is to know which airport he will arrive. Some are saying Lagos, and some are saying he will arrive through Enugu airport. I believe a confirmation will be gotten tonight and those from far distance will move tomorrow to meet up.”

The youth leader who told us that he’s against the move because of his conviction that Kalu will never approve of it, said the youths are determined to continue irrespective of the opposition of some of them.

Igbere Tv checks revealed that the ex Governor is closely guarding details of his arrival, even his close aides we spoke with did not know the exact arrival location.

Recall that Justice Mohammed Idris, on 12th November 2018 revoked the bail granted to Kalu in 2007, when he was first arraigned before Justice Binta Nyako in Abuja in an EFCC case, a matter believed to be politically motivated.

Many people have lambasted the Judge over his ruling on the issue despite being aware that Kalu travelled to Germany for emergency surgery.

Justice Idris also ordered Kalu to submit himself to EFCC immediately after  arrival to Nigeria or risk being arrested.
