BREAKING!!! APC Crisis: Okorocha and Inlaw Suffer Another Heavy Defeat In Court
There are yet no signs of respite for the embattled governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu in the fight to retain the gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress in Imo State.
IGBERE TV reports that the duo suffered yet another heavy defeat in court yesterday to the Deputy governor’s faction of the Party.
An Imo State High Court yesterday upheld the prayers of the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, and quashed the gubernatorial primary held on October 6, 2018, by the Okorocha faction of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.
Justice Kemakolam A. Ojiako Ojiako, who presided over the court, granted all the prayers sought by Prince Madumere, including the prayer that the October 1, 2018, APC primary election was credible, relevant and met the parameters for the exercise.
The Deputy Governor had urged the court to hold that the October 1, 2018, party primary was the only relevant and valid primary electioneering process, through which Senator Hope Uzodinma emerged winner.
The judge upheld that the judgement was based on the subsisting Order of the Court, granted by Abuja High Court, restraining the party from conducting any fresh primary elections until the determination of the matter before it over October 1, 2018 primary election
According to the judge, the defiance of the Agbakabia-led committee was only an effort in futility, if not an affront to the extant laws guiding court processes.
