It’s nolonger news the all is not well with South East Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) since the announcement of ex Governor Peter Obi as the running mate of the party’s presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
The SE Governors Forum, chaired by Ebonyi state governor, Dave Umahi is leading the onslought backed by few other stakeholders in the region.
Since Umahi raised alarm that Atiku did not consult the SE Governors before the appointment, the raging question on the lips of many has been: why are the SE Governors, who are supposed to be happy with the selection of one of their own, opposed to Atiku’s choice?
Another question is: why did Atiku not consult the SE Governors, who are leaders of the party in the zone, before making his decision public?
The answer is Simple: The governors betrayed Atiku.
IGBERE TV investigations reveal that the SE Governors had agreement with Atiku months before the PDP primaries that if the delegates they (SE Govs) controlled voted for him(Atiku), he will pick Soludo as VP, as proposed by the governors.
Contrary to this accord, inside sources reveal that Atiku found out that the delegates the governors controlled mostly voted for Tambuwal, reneging on their agreement.
So Atiku winning with delegates not controlled by the governors, decided to work with those Igbo leaders responsible for those delegates voting for him. These leaders, along with SS leaders, adopted Peter Obi.
“These governors are charlatans, they want to eat their cake and have it too. They know what they did but now forming betrayal!”
