Tony Nwulu Emerges Imo State UPP Governorship Candidate

The Member representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency in Lagos state and front line gubernatorial aspirant under UPP, Hon. Tony Nwulu, has today, emerged as the party’s candidate for the 2019 governorship election in Imo state.

The primary election, which took place at the UPP State secretariat, along Okigwe road, Owerri, under the supervision of the five man electoral committee, announced Hon. Tony Nwulu as the winner of the primary elections, polling 1096 votes, against his counterpart, Chris Chigbogus, who polled only 101 votes.

Hon. Tony Nwulu has promised to lead the United Progressive Party – UPP to victory. While reacting to his victory at the primary elections, he appreciated party faithfuls, stating that the success of the party at the governorship election requires the collective commitments of every party member, regardless of status or position.

Chief Flint Obiekwe, the chairman of the five man electoral committee of the party, has also praised the party in its credible, free and fair primaries. The result was announced by the returning officer of the party, who admonished party members to rally around the winner, so as to achieve imperative victory in the forthcoming governorship elections in Imo state.
