Pandemonium: APC Members Protest, Hold Secretariat to Ransom After This Happened

Residents of Ado Ekiti woke up very early on Tuesday morning to witness the protests held by the supporters of Osinkolu and a section of the members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti State over the plot to introduce an indirect method for the Senate, House of Representatives and the House of Assembly primary election. The decision to adopt an indirect primary method is contrary to the earlier resolution and approval by the National Secretariat of the All Progressive Congress in Abuja to use a direct primary method.
The protesters in their hundreds who trooped out insisted on the adoption of a direct primary method for the various primary election exercise designed and scheduled to hold this week. They accused the former Governor of Ekiti State, Otunba Niyi Adebayo of being behind the plot to change the direct primary method earlier adopted to an indirect one.
Igbere Tv Reporter in Ekiti State, Emmanuel Adeniran observed during the course of the protests that the banner and flags of the Party erected and placed infront of the All Progressive Congress State Party Secretariat were torn into shreds and the polls used in erecting the flags were uprooted and the door of one of the entrance into the Party Secretariat were equally vandalised. The Protesters many of who were suspected to be street hoodlums took over the protests which almost led into some fracas inbetween them and the officers of the Nigerian Police Force.
But for the maturity displayed by the officers of the Nigerian Police Force, the rising tension at the scene of the protests was able to easily quelled and the political tension already aggravating in the area doused.
At the time of the protests, no State Officer of the All Progressive Congress (APC) was on ground to give any reaction on the issue of the protests.
