There was mild drama yesterday at the All Progressives Congress APC governorship primaries in Borno state.
IGBERE TV reports that the incumbent governor, Kashim Shettima broke down in tears publicly over the move by one of the key aspirants, Barr. Kaka Shehu Lawan who stepped down and encouraged his supporters to vote for Professor Babagana Zulum at the primary poll.
Moments before the APC governorship primaries in the State, the outgoing governor, Kashim Shettima, picked a professor, Babagana Zulum, as his preferred successor.
Mr Zulum, the former commissioner for the ministry for reconstruction, rehabilitation and resettlement (RRR), is among the 21 aspirants seeking to secure the Borno APC governorship ticket.
Before then, IGBERE TV learnt the governor was allegedly considering either Mr Zulum and the much younger Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kaka Lawan.
