The police in Lagos have arrested two fake soldiers who allegedly raped a teenager at the Oworonsoki area of the state.
Joseph Agbo, 26 and Balogun Damilola, 20, were arrested by policemen attached to the Oworonsoki Division, who recovered a pair of army camouflage, two berets, two mobile phones and four Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards from them.
Also recovered were a lanyard, army accoutrements and identity card bearing different names.
It was gathered that the 15-year-old victim (names withheld) reported to the station on how she was abducted by two men on army uniform the previous night and raped till dawn.
She alleged that she was running an errand along her Akerele Street residence when the men riding a motorcycle accosted and whisked her away.
The victim reported that they took her to Bariga by Murtala Bus stop, where she was repeatedly raped and threatened to be killed should she shout.
She was said to have alleged that her rapists released her in the early hours of August 13.
Following the victim’s report, anti crime patrolmen from the station led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Mary Anyim, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) mobilised to the address and the suspects were caught.
On interrogation, it was discovered that the suspects were army impersonators and hoodlums terrorising the Oworonsoki/Bariga area at odd hours.
