The Nigeria Labour Congress today directed all its members and affiliate unions to commence a nationwide strike over disagreement with the federal government on a new minimum wage.
IGBERE TV correspondent in Lagos who went to streets to assess the effectiveness of the strike said the compliance is missed as at this morning.
The NLC executives were seen enforcing the strike at the state secretariat Alausa as the gates were shut to worker.
Vehicular movement is however same as other days.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Employers’ Consultative Association, NECA, has said the organised private sector is not part of strike action called by NLC, and TUC
Director-General of NECA, Timothy Olawale, made this known in a letter to all members of the association, made available to IGBERE TV .
He said the leadership of national labour unions had assured NECA that the private sector was not the target of the industrial action but the government.
