Igede Ekiti State was yesterday held to hostage by a group of gunmen who stormed the town shooting sporadically.
The gunmen, who were armed to the teeth caused serious panic in the area as people were running helter skelter with security operatives nowhere to be found.
IGBERE TV correspondent reports that the armed robbers eventually stormed the Union Bank branch in the town, blowing up its security door with dynamites before gaining access to the banking hall.
An eye witness told IGBERE TV that the dare devil armed robbers arrived the Bank at about 5pm, killing atleast 2 persons, (the bankβs security and one staff). Many others sustained various degrees of injury in the operation that lasted over one hour.
