The deputy chairman of APC in Abia State, Chief Ogumka Adiele John has vowed that the party is poised to dislodge the PDP led government in the state which he described as government of impunity and install what he called a government with human face and development oriented.
Speaking to Igbere TV in Umuahia on Thursday, Chief Ogumka said the decision of the party to adopt direct primaries and consensus is borne out of the need to avail the people at the grassroot the opportunity to participate optimally in the process of choosing who represents them at various levels of government. He added that where necessary, the party will build consensus around some decisions and nominations within the party.
The deputy chairman stated that the party has set up committees that will screen aspirants for various political offices in the state. He reinstated the readiness of the party to work assiduously to record what he described as outright victory for the party in the state come 2019.
He said the news that some youths have purchased nomination form for Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, an Abia North senatorial aspirant is a show of confidence in his ability to deliver quality representation.
He expressed optimism that the party will take over government of Abia state come 2019.
