A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia state Chief Amobi Ogah has harped on the need for Nigerians across board to eschew bitterness and embrace tolerance in our religious diversity.

The Isukwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency aspirant made the call on Tuesday in a statement to celebrate with Muslims in their Eid el Kabir annual festival. He also urged Nigerians to live sacrificially in line with the celebration.

“No amount of preaching will be too much in letting our people know the need to tolerate one another irrespective of what their religious or ethnic backgrounds are. Tolerance breeds love, harmony and peace.

“Our country cannot develop in an atmosphere of palpable mistrust and hate. Unity and peaceful co-existence is the bedrock for development of our nation. We must always be weary of fifth columnists whose stock in trade is to fan the embers of disintegration” he warned.

Continuing, he said “We must live a sacrificial life, lend a hand to one another, be a shoulder for the weak, be a voice for the oppressed and be the arm for the downtrodden in line with the celebration of the moment”.

He expressed optimism that he would emerge victorious in the race to the Green Chambers of the National Assembly come 2019 on the platform of APC.

Chief Ogah also urged Nigerians to pray for the president Muhammadu Buhari led federal government in its resolve to bring about a better Nigeria
