Nnamdi Kanu: Fani-Kayode speaks on arrest of IPOB women
Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has called for the release of female members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB arrested in Imo.
IPOB, in a press release made available on Sunday said the women were arrested when they staged a peaceful protest to demand the release of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
They called for the immediate release of the women, whom they said were in the military custody and taken to Etche local government in Rivers State.
Fani-Kayode, a staunch supporter of Nnamdi Kanu, condemned the act.
On his Twitter page, he wrote: “I condemn the arrest and detention of IPOB women by the the security forces in Owerri simply for participating in a peaceful demonstration in support of Nnamdi Kanu and asking for his whereabouts.
“I call on the government to release the women and let them go home to their families.”
