The unfortunate incident happened in Akampka Local Government Area of Cross River State.

However, a Non-Governmental Organization, Child Protection Network, CPN, has rescued the poor girl while the suspect who is her dad’s elder brother has been arrested by the police.

The minor who is currently undergoing treatment has, however, been handed over to the Basic Rights Counsel Initiative, BRCI.

According to the NGO, the minor sustained high degree injuries and her feet were burnt during the torture which has resulted in her inability to stand or sit.

The BCRI has, however, revealed its resolve to see that the suspect is brought to book for committing such dastardly act.
