Biafra Nations Youth League, BNYL, has called on the Federal Government to arrest the leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, MACBAN.
BNYL made the call while reacting to an erroneous report that the recent killings in Plateau State by herdsmen was a retaliatory attack.
Recall that suspected armed herders on June 24 2018, killed 86 persons during an attack on Razat, Ruku, Nyarr, Kura and Gana-Ropp villages of Gashish District in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, over the weekend.
Reacting, Danladi Ciroma, the Chairman, North Central zone said the attack was in retaliation of the killing of over 300 cows in the last few weeks by the villagers.
However, BNYL’s Deputy Leader, Ebuta Takon insisted that government must arrest, “Fulani leaders” just like it’s been doing to other agitators in other regions.
A statement signed by Takon and sent to DAILY POST said, “Fulani leaders must be arrested like other agitators across the South East and South South are being arrested and detained.”
Takon also accused the Federal Government of aiding killer herdsmen.
“This is an injustice, a body of Fulani cattle breeders have come out in support of the Plateau massacre, that it was a retaliatory action, meaning it was intentional, but it is surprising that up till now they are yet to be arrested by the Police and DSS.”
The group also warned that it will respond to any violent activity in South South, and South East by Fulani herdsmen.
