Ibediro, former Chairman of Onuimo LGA was elected in a fierce political battle between the Imo Governor’s camp and a very formidable opposition group; Imo APC Coalition, within the Imo State chapter of the All Progressive Congress led by the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, outgoing National Organising Secretary of the All Progressive Congress, Senator Osita Izunaso and powerful chieftain of the party, Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume.
The declaration of Barr Emma Ibediro and subsequent election of Comrade Adams Oshiomole will open another political vista in the annals of Imo politics, as Governor Rochas Okorocha who was bent on installing his Son-in-law, Uche Nwosu will now restrategise for a way forward.
