What could have turned out a disaster was on Sunday morning averted on Ogun Long Bridge in the outskirts of Lagos. A truck containing an engine oil had an accident spilling its content on the busy expressway.
Before officials of Lagos Rapid Response Squad could get there, okàda riders, in their tens had besieged the scene, scooping engine oil.
On sighting the police, some of them abandoned their okadas.
It took a combined efforts of Rapid Response Squad and LASEMA officials to tow away truck and clear the engine oil from the road.
Subsequently, Lagos State Fire Service was invited to make the spot danger free.
The five abandoned motor bikes were moved to RRS Headquarters in Alausa, Lagos
